Things to do in Belfast on a wet day!

There's nothing like the capital of Northern Ireland on a wet day!  All you need are the right suggestions of things to do and places to visit.

At the head of Belfast Lough, Belfast city is compact and easy to get around, whether by car or on foot and is teeming with a multitude of stylish bars, gourmet restaurants, trendy clubs coupled with some of the best shopping in the UK. Visitors can enjoy traditional Irish music in a local pub or dance the night away to the latest and greatest tunes.

Belfast city centre hosts a premier golfing entertainment facility, incorporating golf, food and drink.

The indoor golf courses allow golfers of all standards to play on 57 of the most famous golf courses in the world without having to leave the heart of Belfast.

W5, which stands for Who-What-Where-When-Why is Northern Ireland’s award winning interactive discovery centre and is situated at the Odyssey in Belfast. Visitors can let their imagination turn, twist and fly through over 160 hands-on exhibits in four dynamic exhibition areas and experience live science demonstrations, group challenges, interactive quests and educational programmes. 

The Odyssey is also home to ‘Belfast Giants Ice Hockey’ where games are played nearly every weekend from September to April, and with plenty of on and off-ice entertainment there's something for everyone.

It features the largest House of Fraser in the UK, four floors of retail therapy, leisure units that include an eight screen cinema, and plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes.  Victoria Square also boasts a viewing zone, called The Dome.  The Dome is the newest landmark on Belfast’s skyline and is accessible from within Victoria Square providing shoppers and visitors with panoramic views of the city. 

If you are looking for something tasty to do in Belfast, look no further than Aunt Sandra's Candy Factory.  The factory is nationally renowned as one of the finest purveyors of hand-made chocolates and fudge; not to mention the tempting Leprechaun’s Gold honeycomb.

Here you can take a little trip back in time and look in on the whole production process to see how hand-made chocolates and fudge are made, most of which you’ll be able to sample for yourself. Staff at Aunt Sandra’s have taken the shop back in time to how it looked in 1953. From the grey slate floor to the wooden counter and ceiling all is as it used to be.
